  • One criticism I have is that they've resorted to adding ugly, half-assed sculptures by less talented sculptors and architects, maybe to finish the building quicker/cheaper? it doesn't really gel

  • Humans are capable of incredable wonders in art and music and genuis ........Gaudie ,Gods architect, is the epitiomy of what humans can do when they are not at their barbaric worse..........even in centuries to come when all falls to dust as time marches on,his work will live in human memory and legend and many will follow his idears of nature and organic buildings and try to to build beauty in stone and light as he designed.

  • 9:00 It’s horrendous that people saw Gaudi was mortally injured in public but didn’t care because they thought he was just some random hobo. They only seemed to care about him once they realized he was someone famous and by then it was too late. I guess being a human being doesn’t count for anything unless there’s prestige attached to that person that others can leach off of.

  • The title is both very Euro-centric and misleading. This is still nothing compared to how long it took the Cathedral of Cologne to finally finish... (and that's just in the category of single buildings in Europe) The title should read 'the oldest STILL unfinished building project in Europe.'

  • The interiors are gorgeous. The exterior is a hideous mishmash and ugly as sin. It is among the ugliest structures ever designed by man. The only thing uglier are Hindu temples like Angkor Wat. It also suffers from that age old "lunatic architects cant leave other peoples designs alone" - an example of which is the proposed addition to the Chateau Laurier in Ottawa, Canada which is also hideous and does not match the existing building or heritage. Too many architects think they can "improved the design" and simply make it worse. Then there is this myth that "new additions should not look the same as the original structure.". Yes they should. If the original structure is worth keeping, then additions should match it. Yes, I consider architects almost universally crazy.

  • People don't understand that God as the ultimate architect designs creation with mathematics that we slowly uncover. People only credit inventors for creating something they're just copying from God's creation. Birds to airplanes, sea creatures to submarines, animal structures to human structure, this guy said it, this cathedral much like a termite mound. The flaw of humans especially so called intelectuals, or atheists like evolutionists always want to over credit themselves for any discovery. When in reality humans only create and design because someone Greater has given us all the elements and inteligence out of nothing to be able to build and construct. Not to mention the perfect function of our bodies and it's capabilities. But ignorant humans prefer to be ungrateful and thank an inanimate idea like evolution that benefits no one in any way. Evolution never existed before and it was never a reason why humans were always inteligent from their creation.

  • The World's Oldest Construction Project is not actually true. The Cathedral of Our Lady in Antwerp (Belgium) was build between 1352 and 1521, which means it toke 169 years to complete. But if they keep working on the Sagrada Familia at the same pace as the past 130-and-something years, it would probably take another 50 years which brings them in the lead.
