  • With all of New York's crime, bad socialist politics, drugs, public debt do we want to pay to save this? New York is nearly broke with huge pubic pension debt. These projects would reguire huge federal money / federal debt. People are already leaving New York, maybe we could do nothing. These projects require taxes from people in a America's interior that may never vist New York. These people will never be paid the same wages as New Yorkers for the same job. Maybe humans weren't ment to occupy parts of New York that flood. America didn't help Detroit, what makes New York so special?

It can't (there's not enough) but if the water continued to rise indefinitely the Statue of Liberty will underwater in the year 31475. climate.nasa.gov/vital-signs/sea-level/

  • Maybe you should explain, that NYC used to be 400 feet above sea level, and some of that rise is still in motion. Rather then suggesting names to call them. What most people dismiss is the sci-fi movie pictures of the Statue of Liberty underwater in 20 years. Besides, how many times have Scientist and Al Gore predicted a tipping point of no return and ice free Arctic seas. People lose faith after a while. www.americanthinker.com/legacy_assets/articles/old_root/Global%20warming%20epihany.JPG

  • Short Answer: No. Examine any legitimate graph of sea level rise since the last glacial maximum around 21,000 years ago, and you'll see the sea level has rise roughly 130 meters due to ice melt. However, in the last third of that, say, 7,000 years, it's only risen roughly 4 meters, and that's for one very good reason: There's hardly any ice left to melt. Yes, Greenland... And Antarctica... But if you examine the ice core data, neither one are going to give up appreciable portions of their ice before the next plunge into an ice age, and Greenland's surface area just isn't that big at 2.166 M km^2 compared to Antarctica's 14.2 M km^2. Actual, factual, supportable, peer-reviewed SCIENCE supports a sea level rise of, at most, another 3 meters (10 feet) over the next 10,000, but ONLY if we don't plunge into another ice age before then, which, given the periodicity of the timeline over the last 5 ice ages, approaches a probability of 100%. More likely, it'll be within the next 200 to 2,000 years. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_level_rise#/media/File:Post-Glacial_Sea_Level.png

Sea levels have been rising 0.8mm per year for 250 years. Sea level rise is linear. Why would you think this is a danger in the future? So far there is no evidence that extra PPM CO2 in the upper troposphere is causing any sea level rise above background level since the little ice age. See: nlworld.info/key/video/2W6Sk86Trodnf3g

  • Three to four times as much solar and / or wind power generating capacity is required to provide reliable base load power as using conventional generating capacity. Nuclear, coal abs natural gas-fired generating capacity are capable of annual load factors of 80%, i.e. operating continuously at 80% of nameplate capacity., Solar and wind power operate at 20% to 25% of nameplate capacity on a daily and annual average Grid interconnections should be made to time zones to the west of where power is consumed. Draw power at night from where the Sun is shining. Interconnections also should cross the equator so that power can be drawn during winter from the opposite hemisphere where it is summer. I'm surprised that the New World Order does not advocate for a power grid fashioned after the British Empire at its peak, "The Sun never sets on the British Empire." Doing so would create the interdependence which is an objective of the NWO.

  • Another solution is for property owners in at--risk areas to combine resources through a special taxing district to fund construction and maintenance of sea walls of whatever height they believe necessary. Don't pass the bill for protecting *YOUR* property on to those who did not purchase property at risk of being under water in the future. Glaciers will melt and ocean levels will rise with, or without, the assistance of Mankind. That is what happens at the end of an ice age.

    Allen LoserAllen Loser4 maanden geleden
  • There is an easy, three step solution a) Move to higher ground if you believe that your property will be underwater in the future. b) Allow for-profit flood insurance companies to charge premiums based upon full actuarial risk. Eliminate federal flood insurance at premiums which do not cover the risk. c) Do not bail out those who are uninsured.

  • Sea level rise in NYC not that simple , it a relative measurement ! NY City relative sea-level rate of rise is -2.851 to -4.076 mm/yr. NY City GNSS subsidence is -2.151 to -3.076 mm/yr. NY City absolute sea level rate of rise is 0.7 to 1.0 mm/yr. Climate change or not NYC going down ! It geological ! at 2 to 4 times rate of any climate change rate changes . It unclear what measurement you using if you fail to include subsidence this very bad engineering ! When you use climate modeling you better use the correct assumption in the modeling RCP ( representative concentration pathway ) . If you using 8.5 RCP UN BS number " business a usually " that coal consumption tripling think again we should have seen a 30 % increase in usage by now the true number is 10 % decline globally a 40 % difference . The true path way is closer to RCP 2.6 . By the way new UN replacement for RCP will have a six fold increase coal consumption as highest assumption . Garbage in you get garbage out of the models.
